Stella held Mac's hand close to her. "You're welcome, Mac. U have been there for me as well, and I can't thank u enough for saving my life." she said. "Speaking of getting out of here, Hawkes, u think u could find out when Mac can be discharged from here?" she asked.

Hawkes nodded and headed out to hunt down Mac's doctor. Mac looked back at her. "You'd do the same for me, and you have before,"he pointed out.

Mac smiled again. "Yeah, I know you all would." He looked at all of them. "And just know, whatever happens, I am honored to have been able to know all of you and to have worked with you, and I would not hesitate to return such a tremendous favor. If it's not too bold and you can take this the right way, I would be honored and I wouldn't be scared to lay down my life for all of you, any of you. You guys are all family. And you don't turn your back on family. No matter what."

Stella smiled. "That's very well said, Mac." she said. Hawkes then returned from talking to Mac's doctor. "Hawkes, what did the doctor say?" she asked.

"They want him in for observation for another day or so and if he feels up for it then, he's free to go but they've assigned him to a recommended month and a half to two months off duty to recover fully and make sure he's fully ready,"Hawkes announced. Mac nodded. That sounded reasonable. He was really sore and the attacks had left him him bruised to say the least about his physical injuries. "Sounds pretty reasonable,"he said finally.

Stella nodded. "You're gonna need someone to keep an eye on u at home, Mac. And u don't even have to ask, because I would love to do it." she said.

Mac smirked. "Yes mom,"he groaned, rolling his eyes as a joking smile played across his face.

Mac grinned and looked over at her. "I thought that one was pretty good!"he teased. He now looked at her, calming down a bit. "I can't change your mind, can I?

Mac looked back at her. "I can take care of myself, Stella,"he said, trying to give her a hint and smiling softly. He did find it really sweet she wanted to be there though, it was so her.

Stella nodded before heading out. "I'll be back. I need time alone." she said, grabbing her phone.

Mac nodded. He was kind of wondering if it was something he said...but he couldn't be certain. There was times when you just needed some alone time, and he knew as well as anyone about that kind of thing.

Stella was outside, just thinking and keeping to herself. She truly did love Mac, in fact, she always had. She just didn't know how to tell him, and she was afraid of getting rejected by him, he was stubborn after all. There was no hiding that. Don joined her outside.

Stella shook her head. "I don't know, Don. I mean, everything is just so damn confusing for me right now. This whole Mac thing, that was...that came out of nowhere. I feel like a school girl crushing on her best friend. That's not in my realm to ever shove my feelings in his face. It never has been." she said.

Don put a hand comfortingly on her shoulder. "It's alright, Stella. He understands, he really does. And it's new to both of you, I'm sure Mac's more than a bit unsure of what to do as well,"he said reasonably.

Stella looked over at Don. "U always know what to say. You're a damn good pep talker. I just want him to understand me, that's all. He's so damn stubborn but u know what? I love it. It suits him real well. I just....I don't know, I guess I just love him. Can't help it, u know?" she asked.
