Adam called Stella. "Stell, the blood trail that leads to the back patio belongs to a Jordan Calaveras. I'm thinking he may be the father of Jake and Risa Calaveras, the one responsible for the bar shooting."

"Calaveras?"Stella questioned. "What the hell would he want with Mac? It was all too apparent to us when we showed up here that Mac wasn't able to defend himself. If he was, we wouldn't be in this situation right now, I know that much about him." She was confused. How did Jordan Calaveras find out Mac was undercover? How in the world did he even find Mac? What would he want with Mac anyways? That just seemed like an awful lot of trouble to go through to find someone.

Adam sighed. "He happened to be the last person to come into the bar that night, Stella. She was watching us through the window."

"It still doesn't explain why it's his blood. If anything, it should be Mac's. When we showed up, Mac had his hands tied behind his back, there was no way he would've been able to defend himself against an attack as brutal as what it seems like it was like that,"Stella said, chewing at her lip. None of this made sense.

Adam sighed. "Mac's blood was recovered on the back patio, I'm thinking Jordan Calaveras punched Mac, Mac retaliated and punched him back, leaving a trail of blood. I did find an imprint of a phone, maybe Mac tried calling for help before being dragged."

Stella nodded, now it was starting to make a bit more sense. "It's entirely possible...I'll ask him once he's gotten over the injuries. It'll probably be a bit, but I'll talk to him." Of course, talking like that was making it seem like there was no question Mac was going to be fine, when in all reality there was. She just couldn't afford to think like that, not for her and not for Mac.

Two hours had passed and the team was still waiting for someone, a doctor, a nurse, or even a custodian to give them an update on Mac's condition. "Doc, u think u can find out something on Mac here? It's been two hours and I'm beginning to worry like hell over here." Danny said.

The doctor looked up at Danny, actually taking the time to stop. "You're here for Detective Taylor?"he asked, wanting to make sure.

Danny nodded. "Yeah, we all are, we work with him. Please tell us he's alive, that's all we want to hear." he said, rubbing his very tired eyes.

The doctor nodded, flipping quickly through his notes. "Yes, Detective Taylor pulled through treatment, they were just moving him to ICU, room 1092, as we speak,"he replied.

Danny got up from his seat and grabbed his coat, motioning to the team to go with him to Mac's room. "Doc, is he awake, in a coma, what's the prognosis?" he asked.

"Currently, Detective Taylor is out on an anesthetic, he should be fine though in a few hours. He'll be in pain probably, but we think he'll pull through,"he said. "But it'll take time before he can return to work, and it may be a while for mental recovery as well. I don't know Detective Taylor very well, but the attack was violent from what we could tell. You're free to go wait."

The doctor shook his head. "Detective Taylor shouldn't have problems with that. Temporary memory loss is an obvious though, but not on a serious level. He shouldn't have any long-term problems. If anything, the recent events he's been through might be blurred or not even there immediately, but nothing serious as far as that matter."

Danny nodded. "Thanks, Doc. For everything. U saved his life. That counts for something. U know, we spent the night here, as u can probably tell. Not exactly what we had in mind but none of us felt like going home, we wanted to be here for Mac." he said.

The doctor nodded and offered the detective a smile. "I'm just doing my job, detective. It's the least I could do for all of you and your boss after all you guys have done fir this city."

Danny nodded. "I'm gonna call Lindsay." he said, pulling out his phone and dialing Lindsay's number. "Lindsay, Mac's out of surgery, we're in his room in ICU, room 1092."
