Secrets || Danny

"I'll keep u in the loop, Don." Danny said. Danny then immediately inputted Mac's cell number into the system. "Boom!!!" he said. That was always his signature saying. He dialed Don back. "Don I got a hit. All within a 5 mile radius. Mac is at an apartment complex, 126th and Jefferson."

Don nodded. "Alright, let's go. We don't know what happened so he could be fighting for his life and I will not be trying to figure out which son of a bitch actually killed Mac!"

Danny sighed and grunted. "He's not dead. But if we don't get up off our asses he will be. I alerted Stella. She's coming along, when Mac's in trouble she always wants to tag along. Meet u downstairs in 2." he said.

Don nodded grabbing his gun and already on his way to meet Danny. "Yeah I know. I hope to God we find him and everything is fine but I got a bad feeling it's not going to be that way."

Danny sighed as he put his gun in his holster and grabbed the keys to the car. "Stell I pray to God that Mac is alive. He would've told u sooner that he was alive, but he had to u know, do what he had to do, anyways, I'm sure he'll explain it all when we see him." he said.

Stella nodded, chewing nervously on her lip. "Right now I don't care that we spent the last month thinking he was dead. If there is the slightest chance he is alive, I'm willing to take it."

Danny nodded and offered Stella a smile. "He's gonna be fine. When isn't he fine? What is it that u always used to tell him when one of us was in trouble? Come on, u know it."

Stella smiled just a bit. "We'll get through it. We're a team and you're not alone in this. That's what I'd tell him,"she said.

Danny patted Stella on her shoulder. "He's right u know?" he said. Danny looked in the rear view mirror. "Don, we got a problem. Traffic jam. There an alternate route we can use to get to Jefferson and 126th?"

"Uhh..Yeah, take the next left, you're gonna then drive for a bit and then take a right. That should take you around the traffic."Don told him.

Danny turned his sirens on. "Got it. That did the trick. Damn I hope we're not too late." he said.

"I know. He'll be fine. I hope to God he will,"Don agreed.

"We're here. U guys ready?" Danny asked.

"Ready as I'll ever be,"Stella said.

Danny nodded as he put his bullet proof vest on and placed his gun in position. He nodded over to Stella and Don. "Let's go, we don't have much time." Danny said. They approached the apartment building and looked around and saw a Chevy SUV. "That could be Mac's car. I'll take a look inside, it's unlocked." Danny said. "Mac's crime kit is here, along with his badge." They approached the font door. "NYPD OPEN THE DOOR AND PUT YOUR HANDS UP!!!!!!" Danny shouted, placing his gun directly at the door. No one answered. "Kick the door open, someone has to be in there."

Don nodded and kicked the door in, stepping inside with his gun up and looking around. "Danny, Stella! Get in here!"he yelled over his shoulder.

Danny and Stella ran inside the building. "Don, u find something?" Danny asked as he holstered his gun, but not for long.

Don nodded. "I've got blood here,"he said, pointing out the blood he'd found. His gaze was worried. "I hate to be the negative guy, but Mac would've answered the NYPD call we gave when we got here, right?"

Danny sighed and bit his lip. "Son of a bitch. Stella grab our kits from the car, we need to collect this look sample. Judging by the spatter, I'd say it does belong to Mac, or the suspect, he could've punched Mac in the nose, causing the blood to drip and leave a trail behind." he said.

Don nodded and looked down. "I'm not a CSI, but do you see the directionality here?"he asked, taking a few steps down the hall, finding more evidence that someone was indeed there and had been injured.

Danny saw what Don was talking about. "It leads all the way to the back patio." Danny said.

"Yeah,"Don said walking carefully down the hall. "Oh shit, Danny! We need an ambulance!"he yelled, eyes wide when he saw Mac.

Danny rushed to Mac, who had been badly beaten. "This is Detective Danny Messer, I need an ambulance at an apartment complex, 126th and Jefferson. I repeat, 126th and Jefferson."

"Damn it, I knew something was up when he asked to call me back,"Don muttered as he checked Mac's pulse.

Danny nodded and sighed. "How's his pulse, Don?" he asked as he observed what had just happened to Mac. Damn, Danny's instincts were right, and he didn't want them to be, but he also knew they would find the scumbags that had the nerve to beat up Mac.
