Secrets || Danny

Mac sighed. "I have no idea Danny." Then he thought he heard something and he immediately grabbed his .40 caliber gun off the table, spinning around and cocking the gun at the same time.

Danny heard Mac's gun. "What the hell is that, Mac?" he asked.

Mac eyed his surroundings quickly, ducking back in to one of the other rooms of the apartment, quieting his breathing as he was still trying to decide what had caused the noise. "I think someone's here..."

Danny mumbled "Son of a bitch. Be careful, Mac!!!!!" he said, just as Don walked outside and heard him say Mac's name. "Mac? Danny, Mac's dead!!!! Are u hallucinating?????" he asked.

"Son of a bitch,"Mac muttered under his breath, hearing Don over the phone. "Put Don on the phone, Danny. I don't have much time to explain, but you better let me try." He still had his gun in his hand, he didn't know where whoever he was looking for was, but now he had more than that to worry about.

Danny handed Don his phone. "Mac???" Don answered.

"Yeah, it's me. I swear to God, I wouldn't twist your arm with something like this,"Mac said as he cautiously stepped out of hiding, eyes scanning the entire apartment that he could see. "Look, I don't have a lot of time to explain and I'm in a bit of a bad spot to explain, but I wasn't shot, Don. I'm fine, the doctor lied, I lied and so did everyone else in on this. Danny's known for almost the entire month, but we had to make it seem legit so I could go and do this job. The truth is...I've been undercover for the past month, I've been working in the Bronx."

Don sighed. "The Bronx is like the most dangerous city in all of New York, Mac. But how can u be alive, we held a funeral service for u, and we even buried u. Judging by the sounds of the gunshots I heard over the phone, you're putting yourself at a greater risk of getting killed. I think u need to get out of the Bronx ASAP!!!!" he said.

"I can't pull out until I've finished the assignment. I'm meeting with an informant tomorrow and with that I think I can get out of here. And the whole thing was a set-up. The entire case we worked on a month ago and the chase of the suspect, it was all set up to look like exactly what you guys thought it did. I was shot by the suspect and I didn't pull the trigger fast enough. Truth is it was just a set up,"Mac said with a sigh, taking one last look around his Bronx apartment as he lowered his gun, almost convinced he'd just been mistaken.

Don nodded. "Oh. I think I get it now. So I'm sure u heard that Dean Truby's fingerprints got a match in AFIS. I'm not really sure why or how he got involved in this case, we locked his ass up. I'm gonna run an investigation and ask a few of my boys what the hell they were doing behind their desks, and how the hell they let Truby get away."

Mac nodded, doing a walk through of his apartment as he listened to Don, checking out to see if anyone was there besides him. "Yeah, Danny called me and told me Truby was involved somehow,"he said. Suddenly Mac stopped, unable to keep a, "What the fuck??" from escaping his lips.

Don heard Mac cuss. "Mac, u alright in there? What the hell is going on, is someone there?" he asked.

Mac nodded, feeling the barrel of a gun on his shoulder. "Yeah...Yeah...someone's here..."he said, not knowing who, but knowing someone was indeed unafraid to pull the trigger.

Don signed. "Let me radio for backup, Mac!!! Do u know the address of the place you're staying at?" he asked.

Mac heard the gun cocking behind him and he bolstered his own .40 caliber slowly. "Yeah...can I call you back?"

Don nodded. "Yeah call me back, Mac. I'll notify the team and I'll notify my boys of the situation." he said.

Mac nodded. "Talk to you then,"he said before he hung up. He still felt the barrel of the gun against his back. "Nice save,"was the comment he got as his hands were pulled behind his back. Mac almost rolled his eyes. "I figured you didn't want other company,"he said flatly.

Don have Danny his phone back. "We need unis right now to go up to Brooklyn, I don't have an address, but I know Mac has the Avalanche with him. Danny, go to the lab and get the team in the conference room, I'll head to the precinct and get a unit to help us find and help Mac before that scumbag kills him for real!!!" he said.

"Where's the keys to your Tahoe, Taylor?" Mac sighed quietly, annoyed by the question. "On the kitchen counter,"he said. The man nodded, keeping the gun aimed at Mac as he took the keys to Mac's Tahoe, the truck he'd been driving for the past month and they were soon on the road, heading out of the city. The man had tied Mac up, putting duct tape over his mouth and putting him in the back of the truck for the drive.

Danny nodded. "I'll get on that right away, Don. Call me when you're ready to hit the road. I do not wanna come back to Manhattan with a body bag that contains Mac's body." he said.

Mac struggled against the restraints, not knowing where he was being taken or what was to happen. He should've given the license plate of his Tahoe to Don before he hung up so they didn't end up trying to hunt down his Avalanche, which was in the NYPD impound lot at the moment from what he knew.

Danny was back at the lab, running the plate of the Avalanche so he could at least get an address to where Mac was. "Ahhhhh are u kidding me?????" he said out of frustration. He dialed Don. "Don, this case is getting us nowhere. I punched in the license plate number of the Avalanche. No hits, Mac doesn't have the truck. It's in our damn impound lot." he said.

"You gotta be fucking kidding me,"Don muttered, slapping a hand to his face. "Have You heard from him? He's supposed to call me back and I'm starting to get pretty worried."

Danny sighed. "No I haven't. I could triangulate his phone, see where that gets us." he said.

"Try it. He usually doesn't get off the phone so fast like he did. I'm worried he got in to some trouble,"Don said.

Meanwhile, the man that had taken Mac had been attacking Mac after they were outside of the city. He had pulled off along the deserted road and attacked Mac several times before leaving him there, still tied up.
