Truby took a sip of his iced tea and nodded at Mac's comment. "Thanks Mac. I brought my gun just in case this all turns into a huge blood bath." he said.

Mac nodded and grimaced a bit. "Considering it wouldn't just be our lives at stake then, and this would then possibly be a massive hostage situation, I'm praying that's not going to be the case," he said. "I'd prefer they try to run for the streets and alleys. There's less chances of lots of people getting hurt then, not that it won't always be a risk."

Truby turned around very carefully because he didn't want Jenkins to see him or Mac. "So what do we do? Just sit here and wait?" he asked.

Mac sighed softly, frowning a bit. "That or approach him. You know him better than I do," he said, "Which course of action do you think's best?"

Truby thought hard for a moment. If he decided to take the approach method, chances were he would get hurt but waiting to see what Jenkin's move would be would also be risky. "I'd say we approach him but very carefully. I think I can talk some sense into him, Mac." he said.

Mac nodded in agreement, cautious eyes scanning the patrons of the hour. "Alright," he said after a moment, "Let's do it. Your lead?" he asked as he stood, looking over at Truby.

Truby nodded as he looked at Mac, before getting up from his seat and approaching Jenkins. "Jenkins? I think we need to talk." he said.

Mac nodded and followed after Truby casually. He looked over his shoulder as Truby got the attention of their mutual friend, and he used the term 'friend' lightly here. Extremely lightly. Don't try anything, he thought, turning his attention back to Jenkins and Truby.

Jenkins looked up from the meal he had ordered and couldn't believe his eyes. "Dean Truby and Mac Taylor. To what do I owe this visit?" he asked. Truby was trying his best to hold in his anger. "Don't play dumb, Chris. We all know what u did. I think it's best if u come with us to the Precinct so we can talk about what went down in that alley by Mac's place." he said.

Mac nodded, glaring at Jenkins. "Truby's told me everything, so I'd advise just coming with us, cooperatively. And don't even think about trying to lay this on him like it's entirely his fault, because I'll warn you now, you do that or make one wrong move, I will be there to kick your damn ass the rest of the way to the nearest hospital. You feeling me?" he snapped. He jerked his head in the direction of the car outside, "You make me walk you there, and I think I might have to tighten a set of shiny bracelets a little tighter than I should. Can you walk yourself, or do we need to guide you?"

Jenkins got up and sighed. "I'm capable of walking by myself, thanks, no need to jump to treat me like I'm an animal or something." he said.

"Look who's talking!" Mac growled, shooting a moody glare at Jenkins. "Do I not have a reason to be hostile and cautious of your sorry ass?"

Jenkins chuckled. "Do as u so please, Detective. I'm not worried about any of this. I didn't do anything. And this is police brutality." he said.

Truby grabbed Jenkins by the arm and glared at him. "If I were u, I'd cooperate, Jenkins. He's the last person u wanna mess with. Or piss off for that matter." he said.

"I'd listen to him on that point of I were you," Mac advised, not moving to stop Truby in any way. "You haven't known hell on Earth until I kick your sorry ass, I promise you."

Mac spun on his heels and glared at Jenkins. "If I had a quarter for every time I heard that..." he muttered looking at Truby. He soon looked back to Jenkins though, "You trying to suggest Truby here is lying to me?" he asked. "If you didn't try to kill me, then why is Truby saying you did? He said you were drunk off your ass and decided to have some fun so you came after me, threatened that if he didn't help you, you'd kill him, too. How do you suppose that's all a lie?"

Jenkins rolled his eyes at Mac. "Because Mac. Why the hell would I wanna kill u? I'm smarter than that. Yes, I admit that I was wasted, that's a given. I didn't know what I was doing. I didn't even know it was u in that alley, Mac. If I had known it was u I wouldn't have gone after u." he said.

"How the hell can you account for yourself? Wasted is over the legal limit and can impare judgment, so under the influence or not, I suggest you shut the hell up and quit accusing Truby. I have more reason to trust him than you," Mac snapped.

Truby agreed with Mac. "And I'd take that into deep consideration too, Chris. I looked up to u. I felt like u were a friend to me. Someone that I could go grab a drink with after hours and share a few laughs. I hate u for dragging me into this. U really put me in a tough position now. I can't believe u would do this to me." he said.

Mac glared back at Jenkins. "Good. It's that or I might just forget I carry a badge and have such responsibility for a bit when I remodel your face!" he growled, no doubt running thin on patience with Jenkins.
