Truby nodded. "I was meeting up with an old friend. He called me to say he needed my help because he was in some serious financial trouble. I agreed to meet with him so I took the subway up there. When I arrived, he said he was plotting to kill u. I wanted no part of that but he said if I didn't cooperate he'd kill me too." he said.

Truby nodded. "Christopher Jenkins, he has a house at this address: 244 West 65th Street, Brooklyn, Mac. U gotta help me, he's really planning on killing me. If he gets wind that I gave u this information, I'm a dead man." he said.

"I'll alert my guys and see what they can do to make sure this Jenkins character doesn't go anywhere near Truby, Mac. Should we be expecting u at the Precinct?" Don asked.

Don arrived at the Precinct with Truby. "Come on, partner, Mac's gonna meet us in interrogation room 1 with Stella." he said.

Don led Truby to interrogation room 1, where Mac and Stella were waiting for them. "He's all yours, Mac." he said.

Truby sat down and nervously looked at Mac. "Look, I'll tell u everything, Mac, just please promise me Jenkins won't come after me." he pleaded.

"He won't if I can help it," Mac promised as he sat down across from Truby. "Look, ... Before we say anything, I do want to say that I trust you to tell me the truth. You did your time, Truby. You were honest with me. That means something here. With that said, what happened?"

Truby looked at Mac and sighed. "Jenkins and I were on our way home from the local bar on 124th Street. We were wasted, obviously, so we decided to act foolish and crash a few parties at some random apartments. These were people we didn't know. When we finally sobered up, we left the last apartment and walked home. We were too drunk to drive. At the time I had no idea u were on the streets, Mac. Jenkins decides to be a dumbass, that's when he attacked u. Now how my prints ended up on your phone, I don't know. I honestly don't." he said.

Mac nodded and chewed at his lip slightly. "That's what we're going to have to find out. We have to clear you out of this, and all we have to do is find what we're missing out of this to do it."

"Lay low," Mac advised, "If Jenkins finds out you told me what went down, the odds are that both of us will be needing paramedics for something a lot more than a bloody nose," he pointed out. He looked over at Stella, "I want you and the team on finding out what we're missing. The quicker we find that, the sooner we can know that Truby's gonna be safe. I want this guy off the streets as soon as possible." He stood and looked back over at Don, "Let your boys know to look out for him. Tell the entire precinct, if you can. I want everyone to know he's likely armed and dangerous. See if you can't find out a little more about what went down back in the Bronx and see if there are any people that might be able to tell us more. This is nothing too short of all hands on deck."

Truby nodded. "I can lay low. I'm scared shitless though, Mac." he admitted.

Mac nodded in understanding as he looked back to Truby. "I can't work this case myself. Doc says I'm off-duty until a later date, so if it makes you feel better, I'll hang with you and keep my eyes open for signs of trouble. It'd probably make me feel better myself."

Truby nodded. "I know where Jenkins likes to hang out, Mac. There's a bar on 80th Street called Cozy's. He usually goes there after work. If he's not home, that's where he is." he said.

Mac nodded. "I've been there myself on occasion. Don, get a few units out there, tell them to keep a watch. I've got friends out there and I'll tell them to keep their eyes open. The more people looking for him, the better chances we have of catching him before he hurts anyone else."
