Stella sat down. "Ok anyone care to enlighten me?" she asked.

Mac took a deep breath, debating over if he should tell her. Looking up at her, he bit the bullet and decided to tell her. "Lucy says I should ask you to marry me."

Stella was shocked. "Not everyone can be wrong about that, Mac, not even a 10-year old named Lucy Messer. Wow. U ever thought about it, Mac?" she asked.

Mac smiled a bit. "What would you say if I asked?"

Stella sat real close to Mac and laid a hand on his beautiful brown hair and ran her fingers through it. "I'd say I couldn't imagine my life without u, Mac. I'd also say I wouldn't wanna live the rest of my life without u. I'd definitely say yes, Mac." she admitted.

Mac smiled softly, allowing her to stay close. He raised his gaze so his eyes met hers. "And I can't imagine my life without you Stella. This was totally unexpected for me...this whole thing...from when I first went undercover, right up to here and now, but I have to, Stella...The question is there, and its real,"he said as he laid one of his hands on her free hand, "Stella...I would love it if you said yes, and I'd say yes myself. I'd love to call you my wife, Stell. There's nothing more I could ask for."

Stella stared into Mac's beautiful blue eyes. Every time she looked into them, she melted. Maybe Stella was right after all. Not everyone can be wrong about her and Mac being in love, not even a 10-year old named Lucy Messer. "Mac, are u proposing to me?" she asked. She felt tears roll down her face, but she quickly wiped them away with her hand.

Mac nodded and bit just a bit at his lip, nervous. "Yes...yes I am."

Stella kissed Mac. She truly loved him, he was so perfect in her eyes. Stubborn was definitely one of the many character traits she loved the most about Mac. It was so attractive when Mac acted stubborn in front of her. "Mac..." she tried so hard to finish her sentence but she couldn't find the words. "Mac...I love u and much much more. In front of all our friends, who I see as family, I can honestly say, this here, I'm not so sure myself how the hell it happened. One minute we think you're dead, next minute you're undercover and laying in a hospital bed, asking me to marry u. As God is my total witness, along with our friends, yes. Yes. A million times yes. I will marry u. I love u." she said.

Mac kissed her back without hesitation. "I love you,"he said, a smile starting to creep on his face. He didn't know what else to say and he put an arm around her, holding her close.

Stella ran her fingers through his beautiful brown hair. "U gotta do this again, properly, with a ring, Mac." she joked.

Mac smiled and chuckled. "Yeah, I know."

Stella smiled and hugged her new fiancé. "I love u Mac." she said.

Mac smiled and hugged her back. "I love you too, Stella."

"I'm gonna check with the nurse to see when u can go home." Stella said.

Mac nodded. "Thanks Stella."

Stella went to talk to Mac's nurse. "Hi umm I'm with Detective Mac Taylor, he's been here for the past two days, and I was wondering when he can go home. He's doing much better than the first day he was brought in." she said.

The nurse nodded. "He can go home when he's ready. The doctor thinks he'll be fine as long as he doesn't get in to anything to rough for a bit. He should be fine."

Stella smiled. "Thanks. I'll pass on the word to Mac." she said as she made her way to Mac's room. "Mac, u can go home when you're ready but u gotta take it easy, no chasing down perps or kicking down doors for a bit." she told him.

Mac smiled and chuckled a little. "Yeah. Trust me, if I look half as beat up as I feel, you couldn't get me to kick in a door after yelling "NYPD" at the top of my lungs even if you begged me,"he said, joking a bit. He felt sore and he knew it'd take a while for the bruising he'd received from the beating to go away.

Stella laid a hand on Mac's arm. "Take your time, Mac, u don't have to decide now if u wanna go home." she said.

Mac nodded, laying one of his hands on hers. "Ok know, and I promise I'll be good once I leave here,"he said with a small smile.

Stella chuckled. "If that's your way of getting me into bed, Mac Taylor, it just might work. Maybe." she joked.

Mac blinked in surprise. "That wasn't my intention, but I wouldn't stop you!"he joked back with a grin

Stella laughed. "That's very tempting, Mac." she joked, kissing him.
